Adia Victoria

Adia Victoria plays 3rd & Lindsley 06.23; tours with The National in July

The Deli Nashville wants to take a moment to check in with one of our favorite artists, Adia Victoria, who will perform at 3rd & Lindsley on June 23rd. The blues singer-songwriter announced at the beginning of June that she had received the Songwriters Hall of Fame's Holly Prize, an award named for Buddy Holly which "recognizes and supports a new all-in-one songwriter". Adia's show at 3rd & Lindsley falls right in the middle of her Dope Queen Tour, which will take her to Europe later this summer. She'll headline a few shows in the UK and in Germany, as well as open for The National while she's out there. Later this year, Adia will open for Calexico and Iron & Wine at several shows around Europe; these performances will grow her audience and give her scintillating Southern blues the attention it deserves. Take a listen to Adia's latest single, "Different Kind Of Love", below. - Will Sisskind

Adia Victoria's new LP "Silences" drops 02.22 at onset of national tour

We hinted at the release of Adia Victoria's upcoming second album Silences last December, when Victoria played Delta Blues Christmas at Third Man. Now it's February, the last of the holiday decorations have come down, and Victoria's about to head out on tour to support the new record, which drops on the 22nd. The polymath artist -- who on Silences sings songs that range from soaring ballads to dance-inducing blues rock numbers -- co-produced the album with The National's own Aaron Dessner. You can therefore hear plenty of emotion come through in the layers of masterful production on Silences; however, the base melodies and lyrics coming from Victoria's voice are enough to convince you of her talent. Watch the video for "Different Kind of Love" below and see for yourself the power and conviction that Victoria delivers. - Will Sisskind

Adia Victoria performs new album tracks 12.06 at Third Man Records

Now that the leftover turkey and/or tofurkey have been sealed tight in Tupperwares, according to every AOR radio station in America, it's Christmas time. And to mark the occasion, blues rock artist Adia Victoria will present "Delta Blues Christmas" at Jack White's Third Man Records on December 6th. She'll perform as part of a night of entertainment which includes both a panel discussion about the history of black art and the blues as part of protest and activism and poetry from Nashville-based artists, including Victoria herself. Victoria will perform two sets of music; one acoustic set followed by a full band set of newer material, some of which will appear on her upcoming LP Silences. The sophomore album drops in February 2019, and a nationwide tour is set to follow the release. Victoria has already shared the first single from the album, called "Dope Queen Blues"; you can watch the lyric video for it below. - Will Sisskind
