Cold Fronts

New Cold Fronts LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Fantasy Du Jour, the sophomore LP from Cold Fronts, is out now via Sire. The band still revs it up, and joyously rips riffs; however, they also take the time to step back, slow down for a second, and get introspective. Those lyrical peeks behind the curtain are tranquil opportunities to refresh and reflect, but the album still remains a very fun ride, with the mellower moments really setting off the full-bore rockers and vice versa. Cold Fronts is getting set to hit the road next month with Hockey Dad, and the tour will be making a stop in Philly on Thursday, June 14 at Everybody Hits.

New Cold Fronts Valentine's Day Covers EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

"I’ve wanted to make a cover album for a while because whenever I can’t write a song, I try to learn somebody else’s," Cold Fronts' Craig Almquist shared. "When I started putting together the EP I realized all the songs I was covering were about unrequited love, and what better day to put that out than on Valentines Day." Whether you have someone or not on this Hallmark-est of holidays, take Cover Yr Heart for a spin below, and feel free to fork over a bit of cash to make it your own. All proceeds will be donated to Girls Rock Philly, "a youth-centered music organization dedicated to building an intergenerational community of girls, women, and trans and gender non-conforming people." And don't forget to cop Cold Front's forthcoming album Fantasy Du Jour, which is due out on 4/20. (We know that it might be hard for you to remember that day so be a smart, little stoner and leave yourself a note where you like to keep your stash ASAP. ;-) (Photo by Bridgette Aikens)

New Track: "Staying In" - Cold Fronts

Philly's Cold Fronts has been building moment again as the band gets ready to release its sophomore album, Fantasy du Jour, on the beloved stoner holiday 4/20. Below is the group's latest nugget of slackerdom, called "Staying In," which recently premiered over at Noisey. Frontman Craig Almquist shared a bit of insight about Cold Fronts' new single. "I felt so refreshed when I wrote this song because it was so simple and it had nothing to do with being sad or being in love or feeling like the world is gonna end. It was just nice to sing about something else for a change. It’s one of our more knucklehead songs." You can find Almquist and the gang at Boot & Saddle tomorrow night, where they will be opening for Chicago's Post Animal and local pals Suburban Living.

Cold Fronts Coming In at KFN Nov. 13

It's getting cold, kids - just in time for today’s powerhouse, matinee show at Kung Fun Necktiefeaturing Sire Records' Cold Fronts. Craig Almquist's brainchild has been rockin’ since 2010 when he was wrapping up school here in Philly. Many musicians have come and gone to fill the ranks - some revolving, but always at the core is Almquist. With a mercurial approach to life and to music, being at the right place at the right time has certainly paid off for the likeable frontman. His music follows suit, being of the moment and of the times, it’s uplifting, carefree with a purist “fuck all attitude.” Forever, Whatever takes no exception to this attitude. Cold Fronts will also be joined this afternoon by co-headliner Slingshot Dakota and Weakened Friends. It’s a rare all-ages show at the Fishtown waterhole, so all our readers under 21 should be taking advantage of this opportunity. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front. St., 4pm, $8, All Ages - Keith Kelley
