Former Deli Toronto Band of the Month, current finalist for the 97.7 HTZ FM Rock Search Contest and one of the buzziest bands in the GTA right now; Crown Lands might be wearing a crown soon if they keep moving at this rate. This heavy-prog two piece recently recorded at the legendary Chalet Studios in Ontario and are releasing an episodic documentary of their experiences at this majestic looking studio. Current Band of the Month here at the Deli - Crown Lands have done up a live-off-the-floor video for their tune "Being Right" at Rattlebox Studios. This video gives you a glimpse of how these 2 fellas make their huge sound. Cody Bowles rocks the drums very solid and consistent and he howls at the same time with a Wolfmother feel to his voice. Kevin Comeau on guitar and bass pedals is very impressive and it seems his multi-tasking is key to the full sound this 2 piece band produces. I'm often skeptical about 2 piece bands but Crown Lands have figured out something special. Crown Lands are a 2 piece rock duo from Oshawa. They have some definite White Stripe influences with their bluesy guitar riffs and dirty vocals but they separate themselves with their individual styles. The drummer rips and sings at the same time while the guitar player also rocks a moog bass pedal with his foot so he keeps it groovy while shredding. Here's their video for "Mantra".
