Indie rockers *repeat repeat play 3rd and Linsley 06.02

For those waiting for new music from indie rockers *repeat repeat, the wait is over soon: The band will release their newest record Glazed on May 31st, and will celebrate the release with a show at 3rd and Linsley on June 2nd. *repeat repeat have had an incredible year so far, what with the release of the music video for their single "Hi, I'm Waiting", playing SXSW, and having The Black Keys' Patrick Carney produce tracks for their upcoming album. The Black Keys will play a big role in the lives of *repeat repeat later this year, as both bands with tour with Modest Mouse this fall. Reggae rockers Roots of a Rebellion release new LP on 05.31

Local favorites Roots of a Rebellion will release their new record Shapes of a Soul on May 31st. The reggae-dub rockers haven't slowed down while recording their latest album; known for playing well over a hundred shows per year, the band has already toured around the country for months promoting their new songs, and they have performances booked well into the rest of May and June. They'll come home for a show at EXIT/IN on July 20th; until then, they'll head west to Monterrey to play the California Roots X festival with bands like Slightly Stoopid, Tash Sultana, and more. Jen Starsinic plays The Cobra on 05.20 with touring artists

Local indie rock artist Jen Starsinic will perform at The Cobra on May 20th, as part of a bill with visiting artists. Starsinic has played around the city over the last few years, evolving her sound from a sparse indie folk to a more full-band oriented alternative rock. Catch her performing alongside Texas troubadour Hill Country Devil, Detroit-based roots rocker Libby DeCamp, and local butcher and musician The Singing Butcher. Starsinic will perform eletric arrangements of her tracks; take a listen to "It's A Foreign Thing", from her 2014 LP The Flood And The Fire, below. - Will Sisskind





Alt-rockers Sons Of Our Fathers play The Cobra 05.17 in tribute to Weezer

Alt-rock group Sons Of Our Fathers splashed into the Nashville scene last September with their single "Harness", and they've kept themselves busy around the city since. On May 17th at The Cobra, the band will lend their heavy sound to pay tribute to the music of Weezer; you'll have to attend to see how lead vocalist Rodney Noffsinger channels his inner Rivers Cuomo. The event, which marks the 25th anniversary of Weezer's Blue Album, also features local bands like Dad Hats, Pretty Ravens, and Ghost Town Remedy; call your friend Jonas, get out your Buddy Holly glasses, and wear your favorite sweater, and go see these bands at The Cobra on May 17th.
